Movie review: Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana's film 'Gulabo Sitabo' has been streamed on Amazon Prime. Due to the lockdown, this film was not released in theaters but was released on the OTT platform. There is a lot of buzz about this film. Let us know how Shoojit Sircar's film 'Gulabo Sitabo,' promoted as a family entertainer, is.
Gulabo Sitabo Movie Review: Story
It is said that the fruit of greed is bad, but knowing this, people are not ready to accept it. The film 'Gulabo Sitabo,' written by Juhi Chaturvedi, is also based on this greed. There are many such tales in old Lucknow, where tenants have lived for 50-60 years and then gradually take possession of that house. Gulabo Sitabo is a film adorned with some such stories. In which Mirza, i.e., Amitabh Bachchan, is lured by his old mansion, which is in the name of Begum, who is 17 years older than him.
On the other hand, Banke (Ayushmann Khurrana) is greedy about staying in the mansion and not having to pay the rent. From the beginning of the film, the cat and mouse fight between the two. Where Mirza waits for his wife to die and tries to get the property in his name; on the other hand, Banke tries to get the Archaeological Department to take over this building to get a house to live in old Mirza's property is snatched from him. The whole film continues to run like this; there is also a sprinkling of laughter in between. But will people like this film?
The film follows the same Fatima Haveli from the beginning to the end, making us feel bored in between; Bollywood masala film buffs might not like this film. The film has many fine actors like Vijay Raaz, Brajendra Kala, and Farrukh Zafar, but their talent was not used properly. Srishti Srivastava has appeared in front of you.
Amitabh Bachchan used a prosthetic in this film; his fake nose is visible, which fades. However, Amitabh Bachchan took the entire limelight when it came to acting. Only he can do such a wonderful job at this age. Ayushmann Khurrana got tarnished in front of Amitabh. The difficulty that Ayushman was going through in speaking Urdu was also understandable.
Gulabo Sitabo Movie Review: Camera Work
The film's camera work is good, which gives a close-up view of old Lucknow. The puppet show is shown in the film, which takes the film forward very interestingly.
Gulabo Sitabo Movie Review: Climax
The film's climax is spectacular and unexpected, which will make you laugh. If you are fond of watching light-hearted movies, you will like this film; if you like Bollywood masala movies, you will be disappointed. ShaniReviews gives this movie 2.5 out of 5 stars.
