Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer 'Coolie No 1' movie has been released on Amazon Prime Video on the occasion of Christmas. This movie is a remake of Coolie No 1, released in 1995, starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. David Dhawan has directed both films. Coolie No 1 Movie Review: Story

First of all, let's talk about the story of the film. It begins with a location in Goa, where wealthy hotelier Rosario (Paresh Rawal) is hunting for his two daughters to find a richer son-in-law than himself. Pandit Jai Kishan (Javed Jaffrey) arrives in a relationship with his daughter Sara (Sara Ali Khan), but Rosario humiliates her. Jai Kishan decides to take revenge for this. He also makes Coolie No 1 Raju (Varun Dhawan) a part of it. He makes Raju a fake prince and takes him to Rosario. Raju changes his name to Kunwar Mahendra Pratap but falls in love with Sara. 

When Raju's truth comes out, he weaves the story of a twin brother. To marry Sara, he tells many lies one after the other, but after that, he gets into big trouble. What is this problem after all? Does Sara come to know about Raju's truth? Will their love last? You have to watch the movie to know this. 

Coolie No 1 Movie Review: Acting

Varun Dhawan has tried his best to entertain the audience, but he could not reach that level compared to Govinda. His comic timing is good. As always, Paresh Rawal has done justice to his character. Sara Ali Khan has not got much space, and she has appeared in most of the songs. Javed Jaffrey, Shikha Talsania, Rajpal Yadav, and other characters have been impacted. 

Coolie No 1 Movie Review: Direction

Talking about the direction, David Dhawan has directed both films. However, fans believe that they have not been able to do justice to the remake of this movie. Many scenes are difficult to digest. The dialogues are not worth remembering much. The songs are fine too. 

If we talk about Coolie No. 1, released in 1995, then the pairing of Govinda and Karishma made their characters alive. His comedy and pairing were well-liked by the audience. People still remember the dialogues of Kader Khan and Shakti Kapoor. The songs were super hit. Now talking about Coolie No 1 released in 2020, the audience does not find themselves attached to it. It has a full dose of entertainment, but it isn't very pleasant. If it is said that this movie has not replaced the memories related to the film of the 90s, then it will not be wrong to say that.
