Alia Bhatt's most awaited film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' has been released today i.e. on February 25. This is the first time that Alia and Bhansali have worked together. The film is an adaptation of chapters from Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai and stars Alia in the lead role. The film is based on prostitution. A serious issue has been kept with ease through the film, which is really commendable.

A 16-year-old girl who came to the red light area of ​​Mumbai and entered a don's house fearlessly and tied a rakhi to her. Gangu reached out to the Prime Minister for the rights of women working in red light areas. 16 years old 'Ganga Harjivan Das' was a girl from 'Kathiawad' of Gujarat. The family wanted Ganga to read and write but Ganga wanted to become a heroine and go to Bombay. A boy used to work in his house, Ramnik, who was already in Mumbai for some time, when Ganga came to know about this, she started dancing happily, Now Ganga had got a golden opportunity to go to Bombay through Ramnik. Ganga befriends Ramnik and the friendship turns into love after some time. After this Ganga and Ramnik ran away and got married. The very next day, Ramnik takes Ganga to Mumbai and sells Ganga for Rs 500. When Ganga comes to know about all this, Ganga screams a lot, but in the end, Ganga compromises. After this, Ganga decides that in 5 years she will rule this red light area. Now Ganga Harjivan Das Kathiawadi had now become Gangu. One day a pathan named Shaukat Khan comes to Kamathipura and goes straight to Gangu. He drags her mercilessly and leaves without paying. During this, Gangu gets badly injured. This incident leaves a mark on Gangu's mind and she is determined that she will punish this man and she shows it by doing this. After this begins Gangu's prostitution to becoming a mafia queen. 

Gangubai Kathiawadi Movie Review: Acting

Although Vijay Raj, Ajay Devgan, Shantanu Maheshwari, Seema Pahwa, Huma Qureshi, Indira Tiwari have all acted strongly in the film, but Alia Bhatt's acting in the film has won everyone's heart. For Alia, there was a scope like Raazi in this film, which she has been able to use properly. He has left no stone unturned in living the character of Gangubai. It would not be wrong to say that after watching the film, if ever the mention of Gangubai Kathiawadi comes, then the picture of Alia Bhatt will definitely emerge in your mind.

Talk about other characters, Vijay Raj has also played well with his character. Vijay Raj plays the role of Razia. As difficult as it is to play this role, he has served it in front of the audience in such an easy way. Vijayraj's character has reminded people of Sadashiv Amarpurkar (Sadak) and Ashutosh Rana.

Talking about the direction, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his films 'Larger Than Life'. He creates his characters according to the stories. Once again he has proved himself. A serious issue like prostitution has been raised very simply. The canvas is larger than life as always. Like in his previous films, here too, Bhansali has not been able to get out of the fascination of grandeur.

about the music of the film, then the numbers will definitely be few here. The songs of the film also did not look like that which remained in the mind for a long time. Yes, it would not be wrong to say that you can remember the song 'Meri Jaan' for the chemistry of Alia Bhatt and Shantanu Maheshwari. The song Meri Jaan in Neeti Mohan's voice has been given a retro touch. Alia's dance in the song Dholida Song is worth watching. The rest of the songs that come are unnecessary. The songs and music of the film are average.

Prakash Kapadia's pen has become quite brilliant and Utkarshini has also supported Prakash very well. Climens could have been better but Bhansali sat boringly in the midst of motherhood. When Gangubai assumes the form of a mother from a mafia, the film gets a bit boring. The first half of the film seems to be a bit heavy on the second half of the film. The film starts off with a bang but in the second half the film being a bit slow can create problems for Bhansali. The character of Gangubai is depicted in a very fantasy manner in the film whereas in real life Gangubai was a very simple woman. There is eerie excitement and audacity in the film. Let it be said that you went to eat biryani and after some time you were served khichdi.
