Breathe Into the Shadows Movie Review:
Mayank Sharma's Breathe into the Shadows is like a ride in a pool without water. The story got entangled in crafting the characters.
Abhishek Bachchan's digital debut Breathe-Into the Shadows has been released. This crime vs. psychological thriller series directed by Mayank Sharma has come out with the story of the same mouse cat, which you have seen in many films. The film's story is written on the loss of a girl child and the subsequent developments, but since people have seen such a story in many foreign series, it cannot be called new, but it can be said to be served in a new way. I found the trailer of the series better than the series, which had more tightness and suspense than the series.
Amit Sadh, who worked in Breathe Season 1, has made a better body than last time; this time, he has also laughed but compared to the last season, he has not been able to bring much better. However, his character still stops you from staring at the screen for a while. Apart from Amit Sadh, the actor for whom the film was being discussed continuously is Abhishek Bachchan; However, he has tried his best to bring life to his character Abhishek has managed to create some magic in his first series, it does not seem like. If you have seen Refugee, you will understand that the whole game rests on the language of the face.
Breathe Into the Shadows Movie Review: Acting
In the world of acting, not your stature or name, but the payoff of your face is more fun. Whatever you become, a policeman, a thief, or a psychiatrist, you will not be able to pass the acting test until that character comes on your face. While Abhishek seems both settled and confused throughout the film, his quirky rhetorical manner of speaking also creates some strange frames in the series.
Breathe Into the Shadows Movie Review: Characters
If we talk about the main characters of the first and second seasons, then Abhishek will not stand even in front of R Maghavan, who has shown amazing in the last season. Although Amit Sadh has not lost hope but has done very well, it would be redundant to write something like this.
Breathe Into the Shadows Movie Review: Story
Talking about the story, Avash and Abha live happily with their six-year-old daughter, and one day the girl goes missing. After a long time, it is learned that the girl is alive and kidnapped. The kidnapper wants the girl's father, i.e., Avinash, to do some murder at her behest. After the first murder, there is the entry of Inspector Kabir Sawant, which you must have seen in the last season, but it can be called an updated version of Kabir Sawant. Then the murders keep happening, and the characters keep getting confused with each other. By the end, much suspense is known, but it seems that there is no novelty; we have seen it before.
Nithya Menon plays the character of a scared mother in the series. She looks confused about everything. They can be called average.
Breathe Into the Shadows Movie Review: Direction
Talking about the direction, it is fine. The story may be old but telling it is different. Since the story has also been written by Mayank Sharma and the direction is also his, then the impression of his maneuver has been seen on the series. It is not right to say that the direction is useless. Still, due to illogical developments and unnecessary scenes, the continuity of watching the series is weakened at many places in between.
Ivana Kaur played the character of six-year-old Siya in the film. This girl has also done a wonderful job. In this, all the angles of innocence, fear, and feelings of a girl child that come in her part have been beautifully portrayed. Talking about background music, if you have seen the last season, then some may be disappointed. Saiyami Kher has done a great job among the other film cast. Although the scenes in her part have come less, wherever she is seen, she has impressed.
Breathe Into the Shadows Movie Review: Star Cast
The supporting actors have done an amazing job in the film. The film could have been spectacular if more screen space had been given to Hrishikesh Joshi, Shruti Bapna, Resham Shrivardhankar. All these actors have done stonework to cover the holes in the film's boat. If Shraddha Kaul had got more space as a cop, she would have overshadowed Nitya Menon.
The second season of Breed gives you a thriller ride of suspense, but this ride is like a pool without water. You will not feel a splash of excitement. You will be missing out on the real thrill of the direction that gives you goosebumps. The fear, restlessness, and struggle in the main characters' life, which should be seen according to the story, are nowhere to be seen. What is the use of such a ride where you swing on the swing, but there is no water in the pool?
The lead role in the series is of Abhishek Bachchan, so it becomes more important to talk to him. Abhishek has to understand that web series is not a film; its audience is still different. The one is watching a psychological film waking up at exactly noon in the night; how would he treat masala films. If the same spectator does not get the dose according to the test at noon in the night, then the web series fails. Therefore, it would be a mistake to treat the web series as a film in the hall. There are many avenues here for Abhishek Bachchan, he can do well if he wants, but he will have to work more on the payoff. If you keep trying, you will be successful too.
